Podium Finish in Davenport Doubleheader

Ricky Weiss returned with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series on Friday night at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) for the doubleheader at the facility that features a quarter-mile oval inside of the half-mile oval. With the 38-car field being split into two separate groups for qualifying, Weiss followed up the 12th fastest time in his group with a third place finish in his heat. Passing eight cars in the 30-lap feature, Ricky notched a third place finish behind Brandon Sheppard and Ricky Thornton Jr. with Ryan Unzicker and Shannon Babb rounding out the Top-5. On Saturday evening on the half-mile, Ricky edged his way into the $10,000-to-win finale with the fourth and final transfer spot in his heat. Rolling off 13th, Weiss jumped up five spots in the 40-lapper to place eighth.

Ricky sits in second in the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
