Top-5 finish in World Finals at Charlotte; finishes fifth in WoO point standings

To wrap up the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series campaign, Ricky Weiss invaded the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Friday afternoon for the NGK NTK World Finals. With 48 Late Models on hand, Weiss followed up the second-fastest time in his group with a heat race win. Receiving the pole position for the A-Main via the redraw, Ricky dropped four spots in the 40-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He followed Jonathan Davenport, Brandon Sheppard, Dennis Erb Jr., and Tyler Erb across the line. (Jacy Norgaard photo)

For another $12,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday, Ricky’s second-place finish in his heat race positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the finale. Losing two spots in the 40-lapper, Weiss recorded a ninth-place finish.

Ricky finished in fifth in the final World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
