10th-place finish in Scorcher 100 at Bulls Gap

On Thursday afternoon, Ricky Weiss traveled to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) to kick off his Labor Day weekend with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series. Drawing 33 Late Models for the rescheduled Rock Gault Memorial from March 27, Ricky followed up a seventh-place finish in his heat with a fourth-place finish in his B-Main. Taking a provisional into the $40,000-to-win A-Main, Weiss passed 12 cars in the 60-lapper to place 13th. (Jacy Norgaard photo)

For the Charlie Mize Memorial on Friday evening at Lavonia Speedway (Lavonia, Ga.), Weiss’ fourth-place finish in his heat pinned him 10th on the starting grid for the A-Main. Clawing forward two spots in the 40-lap affair, Ricky notched an eighth-place finish.

The following night, Ricky and crew stopped at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the Scorcher 100. After placing second in his heat, Weiss dropped five spots in the feature to cross the line in 10th.

Ricky sits in fifth in the latest World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series point standings.
