Ricky Weiss bags six Top-10 finishes at Wild West Shootout

On Wednesday, Ricky Weiss returned to the seat of his J&C Properties No. 7 Late Model at Vado Speedway Park (Vado, NM) for the third round of the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout.

Weiss timed in the seventh-quickest lap in his group before going forward two spots in his heat race to finish second. Starting from the third row in the $10,000-to-win feature, Ricky crossed the line in fourth, his third top-5 finish of the week.

On Friday, Weiss started the feature from the seventh row after a third-place finish in his heat. Ricky advanced through the field in the 30-lapper to finish just outside the Top-5 in sixth.

For Saturday's program, Ricky qualified 6th in his group and finished runner-up to eventual winner Mike Marlar in his heat. Weiss started on the fourth row of the $10,000 main event and battled to a third-place podium finish. He trailed Mike Marlar and Kyle Larson while Jonathan Davenport and Garrett Alberson completed the Top-5.

The Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout concluded on Sunday with Weiss being relegated to a B-Main after a fifth-place heat race finish. With a win in his consolation race transferring him to the $25,000 finale, Ricky powered through the field to finish in the 10th position, his sixth consecutive Top-10 of the week.
