Ricky Weiss
Fourth-place finish with Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals at I-75 Raceway
With Mother Nature finally letting up, Ricky Weiss returned to the driver's seat on Friday afternoon at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) for the first of two nights with the Schaeffer's Oil Spring Nationals.
Stopping the clock third-quickest in his qualifying group, Weiss finished runner-up in his heat race and started sixth in the 53-lap main event. With a $10,053 payday up for grabs, Ricky gained two positions to land inside the Top-5 in fourth. He trailed Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, and Sam Seawright while Trey Mills completed the Top-5.
Riding the momentum into Saturday's $21,000-to-win show at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway, Weiss dealt with mechanical issues in his heat race which relegated him to a B-Main where he would grab the final transfer spot. Making up eight spots in the lengthy 75-lap feature, Ricky recorded a 12th-place finish.
